In April 2020, key statistical steel companies produced a total of 59.636 million tons of crude steel, a year-on-year decrease of 3.29%, and a daily output of crude steel of 19.827 million tons, a month-on-month increase of 6.94% and a year-on-year decrease of 3.29%; pig iron produced 54.169 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.01%. The daily output of pig iron was 1.8056 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.86% and a year-on-year decrease of 2.01%; the production of steel products was 57.729 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 0.43%; the daily production of steel was 1.99 million tons, a month-on-month increase of 7.06% and a year-on-year decrease of 0.43%.

From January to April, the key statistics of iron and steel enterprises totaled 230 million tons of crude steel, an increase of 0.20% year-on-year, and the cumulative daily output of crude steel was 19.289 million tons, a decrease of 0.63% year-on-year; the cumulative production of iron was 210 million tons, an increase of 1.84% year-on-year. The cumulative daily output is 1.772 million tons, an increase of 1.0% year-on-year; the cumulative production of steel is 220 million tons, an increase of 2.19% year-on-year; the cumulative daily output of steel is 1.8276 million tons, an increase of 1.34% year-on-year.
